A portrait of a couple with a wounded soldier was the first place portrait at World Press Photo.
thetrukstop.com says:
It was my first time to find the person who has similar feeling about war and soldiers."It was one of the most powerful and emotional images I had ever seen. Even though I was born and raised in Australia, I moved to the USA and married into a military family. My brothers-in-law all served, as did my father-in-law. Back home, my father was SAS in the 1960's. I have a deep respect for those who join the military to stand up for our freedom, no matter how the politicians coin the cause or what their true motivations are."
I first have to state that I don't have particular feeling of whether the recent wars are good or not, because I haven't found sufficient evidence to conclude to ether side. We're killing more innocent people than Terrorists did in U.S.. Yeah right, but how will it affect the world 100 years later? I'm not a god. I still have to make a decision, you may say. I know, but I don't have a voting right here, guys.
Some people don't understand and treat anti-war campaign as anti-soldiers campaign. That's stupid.
Anyway.
War is one of good topics creating good images. My favorite picture is one that won 2006 Pulitzer prize. It just blew my head. I haven't found a stronger picture than this. Tell me if you do. People have different tastes.
